Ron Butler’s acting, seen in film, television, Off-Broadway performances, live appearances, and in viral new media productions around the world, is the product of training from some of the world’s most accomplished actors, directors, and coaches, including Academy Award nominees William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman, filmmaker David Mamet, American Repertory Theater’s Scott Zigler, and Atlantic Theater Company’s Robert Bella.
Ron Butler has enjoyed a long career in television and film. He won an IFP Award for Best Breakout Performance for his role in HBO’s Everyday People, and spent three seasons as a main cast member of Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP, where he appeared in 46 episodes. A member of the Atlantic Theater Company for the last two decades, Ron Butler is a seasoned stage actor. He performed in the Hollywood Bowl concert production of “South Pacific” alongside country music legend Reba McEntire and Broadway leading man Brian Stokes Mitchell. Ron Butler’s theater credits have also included “Merrily We Roll Along” with York Theatre Company and “Once in a Lifetime” with Atlantic Theater Company among many other roles and productions.
Ron Butler was the frontman, lead vocalist, and songwriter for The Swing Solicitors, a jazz band based in Geneva, Switzerland. Their music appeared in the CD albums “Straight Flight” and “When You Look At Me”. The songs of The Swing Solicitors, featuring the lyrics and vocalizations of Ron Butler, are played frequently on Bahamian radio.
